戊辰戦争後、現在の地で約150年、全国的にも珍しい“竹”の“問屋”として商売を営んでおります。竹は、雪国会津でも昔から生活の必需品として使われており、カゴやザルのほか、春先には庭の竹垣、また、冬準備には雪囲いとして竹が使われていました。

よく叔父が”戦後の舗装されていない砂利道を、自転車で長い“竹”を自転車に固定し配達していた”という言葉にあるように、祖先が汗水流して働いてきてくれたおかげで、当店は今こうして成り立っています。

時代に変化に合わせながら、また昔の良さも残しなから、今後も地域に根付いた“竹問屋”として、引き継がれる“竹”の魅力と先代の“竹”の想いを伝えていきます。

“Hiraide Bamboo Wholesaler” is along Keirinji-Street in Aizuwakamatsu-shi,Fukushima-ken.This shop was established 150 years ago. It has run a business at the current location as nationally unique “Bamboo Wholesaler”The history of  “Hiraide Bamboo Wholesaler” started by carrying “Bamboo” by a bicycle, Althogh it will not be done nowadays, present shop owner used to transport “bamboo” by bicycle in his youthful days. He carried long “Bamboo” by fixing to a steel bicycle through gravel roads because all the streets were not paved at the time.We carry “Bamboo” to anywhere in Aizu district once we got a orders as the locally rooted “Bamboo Wholesaler” We would like to tell you the fascination of “Bamboo” and enthusiasm from former generations.
